About Take Care Medical Clinic Bang Tao
Take Care Medical Clinic Bang Tao is a walk-in medical clinic on Bandon Road in Cherng Talay, a few minutes from
Bang Tao Beach and Laguna Phuket. We are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year,
and you do not need an appointment, a referral or Thai residency to be seen.
Who we look after
Most of our patients are visitors and residents around Bang Tao, Cherng Talay, Laguna, Layan and
Surin. Some are on a two-week holiday and have picked up something that will not wait. Some have
lived here for years and want a doctor who speaks their language. We see both, at any hour.
Every consultation is in English. The clinic is used to people who are a long way from their own
doctor, who have no medical records with them, and who need to understand what is happening and what
it will cost before they agree to it.
What we can do on site
We are an urgent care and general practice clinic rather than a hospital, and the difference is
worth knowing. On site we have consultation and treatment rooms, a laboratory that returns most blood
results during the same visit, and the equipment for wound care, minor surgery, IV therapy and
nebulised treatment.
- Walk-in consultations at any hour, usually seen within fifteen minutes
- Same-visit blood tests, including dengue, influenza and full blood counts
- Stitches, wound dressing and minor surgery
- IV drips for dehydration, heat illness and stomach infections
- Doctor hotel visits across Bang Tao, Laguna, Layan and Surin
What we do not do
We think it is more useful to be clear about the limits. We do not have an X-ray machine, an
operating theatre or inpatient beds. Anything needing imaging, a general anaesthetic or admission is
referred to a Phuket hospital, and we send our findings with you so nothing is repeated from the
beginning.
We will also tell you when a problem belongs in a hospital emergency department rather than here.
Chest pain, stroke symptoms, serious head injuries, uncontrolled bleeding and any drop in
consciousness should go straight to hospital, or call 1669 for a Thai ambulance.
Costs and insurance
You are told the price before anything beyond the basic consultation is done. Payment is at the end
of the visit by cash or card, and you leave with an itemised receipt and an English medical report —
the two documents almost every travel insurer asks for. Some policies allow direct settlement, so
mention insurance when you arrive rather than when you pay. See
